Big Voice Pictures produces educational and social issue programs and documentaries for international distribution.  We seek to reveal truths and bring difficult issues to light for the well-being of individuals, families, and communities, with the intention of motivating dialogue and effecting change.

Big Voice Pictures produced the acclaimed documentary The Healing Years about women healing from childhood sexual abuse, and is completing filming for Boys and Men Healing.

Kathy Barbini, founder of Big Voice Pictures, and producer/director of Boys and Men Healing, is an independent documentary and television producer focusing on social issues.  She is passionate about social causes and the well-being of children, families, and communities.

Ms. Barbini received much acclaim for directing and producing The Healing Years. Funded by leading foundations, the film continues to be distributed worldwide and was broadcast nationally on PBS stations. The documentary broke ground in the field of child abuse prevention, harnessing endorsements from leaders in the field, including Dr. Maya Angelo, The American Psychological Association, and Child Help USA.  It has been featured at leading film festivals.

Ms. Barbini has an extensive background in national broadcast television, including producing for The Discovery Channel, MTV Networks, and ABC and NBC News.  She was associate producer for a prime-time Presidential election-eve special and Project Coordinator for HBO's national fundraising tour of the Emmy-award winning documentary Dear America: Letters Home From Vietnam, organizing national screenings and fundraising.


Simon Weinberg is co-owner of Big Voice Pictures, and co-producer and marketing and distribution manager for Boys and Men Healing and The Healing Years.  Mr. Weinberg was formally marketing and fundraising director for leading environmental organizations, and is dedicated to social justice filmmaking.
